Just what the GE Fridge doctor ordered!

When we purchased our home 5 years ago we were excited about getting to select our own fridge after years of living with bare bones apartment ones. We ended up going with a GE 25 cubic feet side by side with the ice maker and dual ice & water dispenser. The only upkeep it requires besides regular cleaning is replacement of the water filter. Usually we are pretty good about replacing it every 6 months as recommended, but sometimes it goes as long as 9-10 if we know the use hasn't been as much. One thing for sure is that you notice when it's replaced how much faster the water dispenses. It does say to run a gallon or two through the new filter before using the water for drinking and that is easy enough to do. The price is pretty competitive here on Sale filters compared to my local brick and mortar stores, but I usually check to see if the single or double pack is the best deal at the time of purchase. Overall it's just what I need and easy to install.

Works Great and Easy to Use and Install

This is a great water filter. I bought a house with a compatible refrigerate and I don't know how old the filter was that was in it. It wasn't name brand and honestly stunk. This GE one has much better water flow and works great. I followed the instructions and ran a couple gallons through the filter before use and have loved it ever since. Speaking of which, it is about time to order another one.

needed a replacement filter and this is the most convenient way to get it.Bonus: a year later when you have to buy a new one, you don't have to start the chase of the "right filter for the right price" - just look into your old purchases and reorder it.The filter itself is shrink-wrapped and then inside a small branded cardboard box (single unit / 1-pack).just unpack, pull the sticker that covers the opening (like a yogurt) and then soak/fill with water.replacement is easy thanks to the bayonet mount: push and turn until it clicks into place. Doesn't make a mess either. Then you have to run X amount of water through your fridge (it says it on the filter and the instructions on the box) to flush the line inside your fridge... Done...I love my fridge with the ice maker and cold water dispenser; the water is delicious because of the filter and that's why I change it when it's due (once per year for me).

Nothing Like Buying it From the Company!

There may be many options when buying a water filter for your fridge. However, having the confidence that the company answers for whatever comes up is a quality like no other. It was a perfect fit. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! Before replacing, make sure to fill it up with water after peeling the protector off. This will get rid of compressed air. Subsequently, when you are done setting it up, make sure to test it by filling a cup at least 8 times in order to get the water flowing properly.
